Masaki and Marina’s Paris Trip

ランコムさんのお仕事で高田と渡辺で、11月4日～11月8日の日程でパリ出張へ行ってきました。弾丸出張でしたが、その様子をちょっとご報告。

Out-of-the-blue, from November 4th thru the 8th, Masaki and Marina headed to Paris for a Lancome photo-shoot. Although their stay was short we thought we would give you a little report.

この写真はあのPUBLICIS本社。ガラス張りの建物、全部PUBLICISね。シャンゼリゼ大通り、凱旋門のすぐ横！最高の立地です。

The glass building is Publicis Groupe’s worldwide headquarters, Publicis is SSF Tokyo’s parent company. The beautiful building is next door to the Arc de Triomphe at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.

PUBLICIS は灰皿だってPUBLICIS。（近年はフランスでも建物内で煙草は吸えないんです）そしてPUBLICISの1階に入っているコンビニ。コンビニだってPUBLICIS。ポスターがカワイイです。フレンチタッチ？

On the left is the original Publicis ashtray, with the lion logo etched into the stone; indoor smoking is even prohibited in France these days! On the right is a cute poster for the Publicis Drugstore on the first floor of their headquarters. What do you think, the French touch?

パリ到着後の夕食。一緒に写っているのはPUBLICISのコーディネーターのクリスティーン。そしてクリスティーンお勧めの前菜、グリルドチーズの蜂蜜かけ。旨い。

Dinner with Christine, our Publicis coordinator, on our 1st night in Paris. And on the right is the entrée she recommended, grilled cheese with honey. It was delicious!

帰国前のわずな時間でパリを散策。高田の後ろの建物は、パリで一番古い建物だそうです。日本で言うと安土桃山時代。渡辺は最後の気力を振り絞って、ギャラリエ・ラファイエットへ！壁一面、すでにクリスマスイルミネーションでした。

以上、パリ日記でした。仕事のシーンが皆無ですが、もちろん一生懸命仕事をしてきましたよっ。

Before heading back to Tokyo we did some sightseeing around Paris. The building behind Masaki, on the left, is one of the oldest in Paris. Supposedly built sometime during the late 1500’s to early 1600’s (Azuchi-Monoyama Period in Japan). At the last minute, Marina forced herself into Galleries Lafayette which was wrapped up in Christmas illuminations. We didn’t have time to take any pictures of us working, but, naturally, we did our very best. It was hectic during the shoot!

我が社で、一番お酒が大好きな加藤さんが、なんとソムリエの試験に見事パスしました。
本来なら、シャンパンで乾杯！というところですが、やはりソムリエ試験に合格という夜なので、
２本の赤ワインを用意し、社内最終試験を実施したのであります。

Kazuhiro Kato, Group Account Director, passed the sommelier test. In celebration of the occasion we decided to conduct a test of our own at the SSF Tokyo offices. We went to, nearby, Omotesando Hills and bought two bottles of wine for the in-house test.

結果、1本のワインで、生産地と品種と値段をブラインド・テストで見事に的中！！
（もう1本のワインは、、加藤さんの名誉のため内緒にします）
恐れ入りました。。。

とにかく、加藤さん、おめでとうございました！

Kato-san did well in the blind taste test. He figured out the country of origin for both wines, the grape on one and the price on the other, to within ¥100! All without ever seeing a bottle or being given any information on the wine.

はじめまして。名前は春坊って言います。
4月生まれなんで、春です。
生後6ヶ月のオスです。

毎日電車に乗って出社しています。
主な仕事は、寝る事とご主人のストーキング、、。
飼い主的には、もう少し皆様の癒しにでもなってもらえれば、と願うばかりです。

ちょっと臭い時もありますが休憩時間など、もし良かったらいじってやってください。この先もみんなに愛されるように、努力？（4階をウロウロ？）してまいりますので、今後ともどうぞよろしくお願い申し上げますっ。

Hello, my name is Haru-bou and I was born in April. Haru comes from the Japanese word for spring. I’m now six months old.

Every morning I go to work by train. Typically I sleep and stalk my owner at the office.As the owner of Haru I hope that he will make you feel relaxed.

Sometimes he smells bad, but if you can bear it, please play with him during your break. He will make an effort to be loved by everyone, even though he just hangs around on the fourth floor. Your understanding is appreciated.

ファロン東京に、また新しいインタラクティブな人が入ってくれました！

ヨーロッパでも特に多くのデジタルクリエーターを世界中に輩出しているスウェーデンのデジタルアートスクール「Hyper Island」に昨年12月に行ってきまして、Adrian君と出会い、今、彼はインタラクティブアートディレクターとして、ここ東京で頑張ってくれております！

ファロンのインタラクティブチームがどんどん成長して嬉しい限りです。

We are happy to announce that we have a new addition to our interactive team at Fallon Tokyo.

Adrian from Hyper island in Stockholm, Sweden joined our team as an Interactive Art Director. Hyper island is one of Europe’s top Interactive Design schools. Exciting times!

行ってきましたっ！SXSWインタラクティブ in オースティン。5日間の貴重なパネルディスカッションや刺激的な出会いのあった素敵なパーティ！そこで、ファロンワールドワイドのインタラクティブチームとも偶然出会い、意気投合。
Was great to attend the SXSW Interactive Festival, featuring five days of interesting panel contents and amazing parties. Some people might think it was a geek week in Austin but I really loved it.I also bumped into the Fallon Minneapolis interactive team:

The Best Fallon Year-End BBQ Party Yet!

今年もやってきましたファロン恒例の年末バーベキューパーティー！
昨年は、羊の丸焼きでしたが、今年のメインは5時間かけてローストした豚。（写真下は長時間豚を丸ごと焼き続けた本人です）。辛抱強くお待ちいただいたクライアントの皆様、ありがとうございました！選りすぐりのワインとともに食べる豚は美味でした。
この日は、ファロンのエコバッグ、ファロン写真部「ファロン・シャッター」作品集のお披露目でもありました。

そして、そして、大人気だったのは、PS3でのウィニングイレブン2009とF1シミュレーター。本物のレースクイーンも登場して、年末らしい賑わいとなりました。

来年のパーティもお楽しみに。

Since Fallon began, we’ve become famous among clients, industry partners and friends of the agency for our BBQ parties. For those unfortunates who couldn’t attend our 2008 Year-End Party, here’s what you missed: Not to be outdone by last year’s roasted lamb, our Head Chef & Senior Art Director Kenji Ito spent 5 hours roasting an entire pig; Kato san’s eclectic & excellent selection of wine; the roof top O-Den station manned by our Creative Directors Aizawa & Uemura; a cake in the shape of the latest model Dyson vacuum cleaner brought by our client and MHD provided a professional bar-top Old Parr Scotch dispenser. And, of course, Heineken graciously supplied the beer!

The party also saw the launch of the Fallon Eco-bag and an exhibit from Fallon Shutter, our photography club.
Other crowd pleasers included the PS3 station debuting the 2009 Winning Eleven game and 2 F1 professional race car simulators complete with Race Queen.
How will we be able to out due this next year? Stay tuned…

Fallon timeout at Hakone

日常のブリーフ、締切り、プレゼンテーションをすっかり忘れて待ちに待った1泊2日の社員旅行 ! バスに積んだのは1泊とは思えないビールの山。都会の喧噪を離れて、向かった先は、箱根！

現地では、観光、温泉、食べて、飲んでの繰り返し。夜には、東京から車で駈けつけた3人も合流し、また食べて、飲んで、また飲んで。ともに美酒と美食に酔うためだけにひたすら運転してくるのは、ファロン文化の1つです。

来年は~~ハワイ~~ 日光かなあ。。（マネージメントによる修正）

It was a day we all forgot about briefs, deadlines and presentations. We shut down our computers, closed the office, and left for 2 days of retreat at Hakone. At 10.30am, we loaded the bus with enough alcohol to last us 2 lifetimes and ventured further and further away from the grays of the city to the soothing autumn reds and browns of Hakone.

Sightseeing, on-sen & “partaking in a glass or two” were the only items on the itinerary. In the evening , Kato-san, Kaneko-san and Sasaki-san drove all the way from Tokyo to join us just for dinner and drinks. It’s typical of Fallon culture – driving a hundred & fifty kilometers just to party together.

We’ll be looking forward to next year’s company trip to ~~Hawaii~~ Nikko(management edit).
